The Influence of Different Crystal Modifiers on Ultra-Low Embodied Energy Curing Fiber-Reinforced Cement Composites

Fiber-reinforced cement composites (FRCC) are widely used in the construction of houses and commercial buildings many countries such as United States, Kingdom, European countries, Asian China, India, Thailand. Conventionally, FRCC is manufactured from Portland cement, silica sand, cellulose fiber using so-called autoclaved curing under a designate hydrothermal condition to accelerate hydration reaction resulting superior properties. However, autoclave-curing process needs huge investment generates highly environmental impact specially greenhouse gases due its heavy energy consumption. Hence, this research aims develop with lowering embodied via energy-free moisture process. The use different crystal modifiers (CM) including synthetic tobermorite, alumino-silicate complex, modified lithium compound addition usual composition drive kinetic then properties achieved were characterized by relevance higher heat hydration. Moreover, scanning electron microscope (SEM) reveal favorable effects appropriate CM through microstructure. results approved that qualified mechanical performance densified microstructure was successfully produced CM. Additionally, complex at 3% weight highest modulus elasticity 9,067 ± 492 MPa, lowest % water absorption 27.42 1.65 %.
